The Eurocopter (now Airbus HelicoptersAS355 Écureuil 2 (or Twin Squirrel) is a twin-engine light utility helicopter originally manufactured by Aérospatiale in France. The AS355 is marketed in North America as the TwinStar.

Development at Aérospatiale began in the early 1970s and the first flight took place in June 1974. A twin-engined version, known as the Twin Squirrel, or in North America as the TwinStar, first flew on 28 September 1979. In 2007, the more capable AS355 NP variant was introduced to service.

An extremely popular helicopter, if you’ve had a camera helicopter on your production then this was likely it. In other roles it’ll serve well as a Police helicopter or a luxury VIP example. In this last role we used one on “The Royals”, landing it on Camber Sands.
